Leagues
What league should my child sign up for?
PHBA offers youth sport programs for children ages 5 through
16*.
* Boys Instructional League (5-6 years old) - Players
must reach their 6th birthday but not their 7th birthday before April 30, 2008.
* Boys Instructional League (7 years old)- Players must
reach their 7th birthday but not their 8th birthday before April 30, 2008.
* Boys Pioneer League (8 years old) - Players must
reach their 8th birthday but not their 9th birthday before April 30, 2008.
* Boys American League (9 years old)- Players must
reach their 9th birthday but not their 10th birthday before April 30, 2008.
* Boys American League (10 years old) - Players must
reach their 10th birthday but not their 11th birthday before April 30, 2008.
* Boys National League (11-12 years old) - Players
must reach their 11th birthday but not their 13th birthday before April 30, 2008.
* Boys Western League (13-15 years old) - Players must
reach their 13th birthday but not their 16th birthday before April 30, 2008.
* Girls Instructional League (6-7 years old) - Players
must reach their 6th birthday but not their 8th birthday
before December 31, 2007.
* Girls Pioneer League (8 years old) - Players must
reach their 8th birthday but not their 9th birthday
before December 31, 2007.
* Girls American League (9-10 years old) - Players
must reach their 9th birthday but not their 11th birthday before December 31, 2007.

* Girls Western League (13-15 years old) - Players
must reach their 13th birthday but not their 16th birthday before December 31, 2007.

o Mustang League (9-10 years old) - Players must reach
their 9th birthday but not their 11th birthday before April 30, 2008.
o Bronco League ( 11-12 years old) - Players must reach
their 11th birthday but not their 13th birthday before April 30, 2008.
o Pony League (13-14 years old) - Players must reach
their 13th birthday but not their 15th birthday before April 30, 2008.
o Colt League (15-16 years old) - Players must reach
their 15th birthday but not their 17th birthday before April 30, 2008.

Special League Dates
* When is Opening day ?
March 15, 2008 is the 2008 Opening Day. There are
team activities, food, prizes, and much more! Bring the
whole family and spend the day with friends.
* When and where are the evaluations?
Tryouts are held on December 8 & 15, 2007 @ PO fields near snack shack. Check times in announcements page.
* When and where is the Annual Banquet ?
The annual banquet is TBA. There will be raffle prizes, great food, award
presentations and dancing. Don't miss out on the fun!! Contra Costa Country Club.
* When and where are the All-Star games?
The All-Star games will be played in June. More information as dates are
confirmed.
* What about post season play ?
Post season play will take place in June. More information as dates are
confirmed.
* Is PHBA hosting any interleague tournaments?
PHBA will be hosting Boys and Girls tournaments at the end of June. Please
see the PHBA Calendar for details.

Sign-up Information
* When and how do I sign my child up to play in PHBA ?
A parent should come to the Pleasant Hill Middle School with player information
and payment (check or cash only) on one of the dates/times on the front page.
These dates are confirmed. Please print out and fill out registration forms on front page. First-time players in PHBA should bring a birth
certificate.
* What can I do if I miss the sign-up days?
Interested players will be placed on a waitlist and if an opening becomes available
they may be called. There will be an additional $50 late fee for anyone
signed up from the list (after the final day of sign ups, which is December
1, 2007). Please contact Jim Goonan (information on Board page). There will be a last minute, late signups on January 19th, 2008.
* How much does it cost per child?
The cost per child for the 2007 season is as follows:
o 1st Child = $130
o 2nd Child (same family) = $120
o 3rd & More (same family) = $80
* Are there hidden costs?
PHBA does not have hidden costs
or mandatory candy drives. PBHA has very few fund raisers. Costs are kept
down through all of our great volunteers and through our Annual Banquet.

Volunteer Info
* I would like to volunteer, who do I call ?
Volunteers are always needed and are welcome. Call PHBA at (925) 933-7950
and let us know what you would like to do. You can email us goonan2000@comcast.net
* Please describe the various volunteers duties.
o Team Coordinator— communication to parents, team snack assignment,
team party, etc.
o Picture Parent— Organizes players for pictures, distributes packets
and pictures, works at Pictures on opening day
o Field Preparation — Helps maintain, repair, and prepare fields
prior to games
o Banquet Parent — Help promote, sell tickets, and collect items
from team's parents for gift baskets auctioned off at banquet

Fields
* What fields do my childrens teams play on?
Your children will play on fields in the Pleasant Hill area depending
on the league your child is assigned. Schedules will be forthcoming after
the teams are selected.
* Who maintains the fields?
The Park and Recreation and School Districts mow the baseball fields.
PHBA maintain the infields and backstops. Parent volunteers are needed
to help prepare fields prior to games.
Meetings
Board of Directors
* Meetings are the 2nd Tuesday and 4th Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm (8:00 pm during
the season) at Pleasant Hill Park Office Conference Room.
General Membership
* Meetings are the fourth Thursday of each month (except November &
December) at 8:00 pm at the Pleasant Hill Civic Center in the Lower Club
Room. All PHBA parents, coaches, and volunteers are encouraged to attend
these meetings for information, questions and problem solving.
Commissioners
* Meetings are the first Tuesday of each month.

* How can I find out if our game is rained out ?
Call PHBA at (925) 933-7950 for rainout information. Please note that
the decision to play or postpone a game may be decided by the PHBA umpires
near gametime when weather is questionable. People can check the number
1 hour before the game.
* Do we need to live in Pleasant Hill to play in PHBA?
PHBA does not set fees according to residence nor do we recognize government
boundaries. All players are welcome - PHBA has players from Pleasant Hill,
Walnut Creek, Concord, Lafayette, Alamo and Martinez.
* What browser should I use to view the PHBA site?
If the text or images appear too large, you can change the font size
within your browser. For Netscape choose VIEW and select decrease font.
For Internet Explorer, choose VIEW, then FONTS and select smaller or whichever
option looks the best. Another option is changing your screen resolution
from 640x480 to 800x600. This should resolve the page to an appealing
display.
We advise you to upgrade from versions 3.x of Internet Explorer, Netscape
or AOL to their 4.x or 5.x counterparts. Please email us if you find problems
or have any questions.
